Principal - Alpharetta Campus
Bachelors of Science in English, University of North Georgia
Masters in Education Administration, National University
I am amazed by the growth of Rivers Academy since the school first started, and I'm extremely lucky to have been a part of it as one of the first teachers. I came to Rivers Academy as a language arts teacher, and quickly realized how important this school was to me. I began working as the teacher liaison during my third year of teaching. Since then, I have served as the Director of Admissions and the Co-Director while completing my Masters in Education Administration. I am confident that my roles as an administrator and, most importantly, a teacher have provided genuine experiences that have assisted me in my goals as Principal at Rivers Academy. This school is more than a unique program; it's an engaging experience where teachers love to teach and families and students love to belong!

Academic Dean - Alpharetta Campus
Bachelors of Science in Biology, University of Georgia and a Masters in Educational Leadership, Kennesaw State University
While pursuing my biology degree at the University of Georgia, I was able to work in a research lab, to tutor and to work as a lab assistant. Of all these roles, I enjoyed teaching the most. I began my teaching career at Rivers Academy with a position in Biology and Life Science. Knowing that I wanted to be part of the mission of Rivers continuing to impact students, I received a Masters in Leadership and moved into administration. The role of Academic Dean has been such an amazing experience. I believe that we have a unique program that challenges each child to push his/her limits and rise to the occasion. I enjoy having the chance to know all of our wonderful students and watching them succeed from a "different perspective." I am also a wife and a mother of two little girls.

After a rewarding business career and many years of teaching, I bring a real world application to my vision for the students. I have taught every subject through the middle grades and have continued my education staying apprised of new developments in the teaching field. Teaching our seniors Entrepreneurship keeps me in touch with the classroom and affirms my position that we are in good hands with this generation of great thinkers leading in the future. I am able to utilize my undergraduate degree in business from Florida State and my education degree from Mercer in my role at Rivers Academy. My motivation is drawn from a genuine love of children and the joy it brings to share in a child's journey to find his/her voice. I believe all of my students have unlimited potential and learning is enhanced by presenting material through a variety of teaching methods.
